Review for Inheritance of Hope , Atlanta, GA, USA
A charitable organization of "people who get it", Inheritance of Hope has a large percentage of volunteers who have previously been served by this organization, and it shows. Most volunteers have gone through a similar situation as the people they are serving, or have been very close to such a family. The organization, as well as the volunteers are mindful of the families they serve, without ever being pushy, judgmental, or giving advice. They genuinely listen and provide a sounding board, even after the sick parent passes.
The fellowship our family has received at the meetings, both in person at Hope Hub DC, as well as on Zoom, and of course at the retreat in San Diego has been invaluable and have created many lasting memories for our son, and for me as the surviving parent. The Inheritance of Hope retreat provided an all included (except transportation from and to home) long weekend, focused on making lasting memories for families with young children who are at risk of losing a parent. Included was a professional photo shoot of the family, as well as casual photos taken by staff and volunteers over the weekend.
I hope our son and I will have an opportunity to volunteer ourselves for Inheritance of Hope in the (near) future.
