Review for Food & Water Action, Washington, DC, USA
Food and Water Action in Los Angeles has been doing some amazing, empowering organizing work in my community! Through the smog, urban oil drilling, and methane, FWA gives me hope and a toolbox of organizing strategies so that my voice is heard.
There are so many incredible projects that they are working on, but it's hard to not celebrate today's victory at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Over 40 members of the community went to the LADWP Board of Commissioners meeting at 9am this morning to give public comment in support of the Eland Solar Project, the largest and cheapest solar project in the history of the country. LADWP approved the project unanimously--in a victory that will be a roadmap for the rest of the country, showing that we can transition off of dirty fossil fuels and create great, unionized jobs in the process. Thank you for everything you do!
