Food and Water Watch has honestly changed my life! I was intimidated by environmental activism, but knew in my heart that I wanted to participate and DO something. When I was introduced to the people at FWW, I became more at ease and comfortable with the idea of going out and talking to strangers about the climate issues happening in city. I learned how easy it is to get involved and how important it is to take action in your own city as those actions cause a ripple effect. The people that run FWW have a way of making volunteers feel comfortable and for me, I don't know everything there is to know about the little details of the political areas of environmentalism, but they've never once looked down on me for that; they educate others without demeaning them! I can freely ask questions without feeling dumb, and to me, that's SO important. FWW is like family now and I'm proud to stand beside them and fight to achieve environmental justice!
