Mission: The Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey, an affiliate of the National Epilepsy Foundation, is a state-wide, non-profit charitable agency dedicated to helping to improve the quality of life for people affected by epilepsy and their loved ones. EFNJ is also an affiliate of The Family Resource Network.
Results: In 2010, 11,292 people statewide were trained by EFNJ about epilepsy and seizure first aid. EFNJ successfully advocated for the establishment of a statewide task force on epilepsy that was signed into law by Governor Chris Christie in 2010.
Target demographics: Approximately 125,000 New Jersey residents have epilepsy and in 70% of the cases, no known cure exists.
Programs: EFNJ provides residential summer camp, educational workshops, scholarships and referral programs.
